‘Hublot is committed to creating exceptional timepieces using rare materials, and I use pop art as inspiration to create a gorgeous world of colors. Our cross-disciplinary integration is so natural.’ French contemporary artist Richard Orlinski said . He refers to the Orlinski joint chronograph, a classic fusion series created in collaboration with Hublot, a sculpture that shows time with a 3D perspective.
The complex shape and blue ceramic material, which is difficult to mix and fire, are enough to show Hublot’s skill in exterior decoration.
Fusion has always been Hublot’s expertise, and it is not only a combination of stars or brands in different fields, but also the artist’s design elements and spirit, subtly integrated into the watch. The collaboration with Richard Orlinski is a very good example. The new classic fusion series Orlinski joint chronographs are available in royal gold, titanium, blue ceramic and black ceramic. The case, crown, bezel, and handles all use Richard Orlinski’s signature three-dimensional cuts. The 12 cuts correspond to the dial’s digital scale. The dial is made of sapphire water glass, seeing through the mechanical structure of the chronograph movement. In this way, the case manufacturing process must be modeled before cutting different materials, and the artist’s signature mirror polishing process is added. The avant-garde and complex design brings challenges, but Hublot has taken another milestone in watchmaking.
‘The classic fusion series Orlinski co-branded chronograph has a novel design, like a sculpture showing time. It uses Richard Orlinski’s famous facet creations in a unique three-dimensional case outline to show the innovative watch structure.’ Said Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe.
Classic fusion series Orlinski chronograph (from left to right) titanium / blue ceramic / royal gold / black ceramic case, 45 mm diameter, sapphire crystal glass and dial, hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph, HUB1155 Self-winding movement, 42-hour power reserve, water-resistant to 50 meters, natural rubber strap.
Richard Orlinski injected retro and neo-futuristic art into the classic fusion series Orlinski chronograph. He believes that the watch hand is a symbol of the future: it never stops turning, it means eternity. Adhering to the same attitude of excellence and passion, this contemporary artist and Hublot jointly created a distinctive timepiece, which is particularly eye-catching in an industry that emphasizes traditional watchmaking.
